Azerbaijan

Discover Azerbaijan, where half of the world’s mud volcanoes erupt with gas, water, sand, and sometimes oil. 

While the largest are high as mountains, most are small piles, no bigger than a man. Nearly all of these natural wonders bubble peacefully, but some can be dangerous with fiery gas plumes, oxygen loss, or mud landslides. 

These mud volcanoes reveal rich oil and gas resources, which also create burning hills and burning spring water together fittingly, naming Azerbaijan the Land of Fire.
