In Honduras, you can find a Roman aqueduct, a faith center, a classroom, and residential homes, all built with sand-filled plastic bottles.
A dedicated environmentalist holds workshops teaching this technique. Bottles are collected, filled with sand, stacked on their sides, and, bound together in different ways depending on the project. Eight thousand plastic bottles made one of the homes in Honduras.
To make a two-bedroom home with a WC, kitchen, and living room, you’ll need about 14,000 sand-filled bottles.
