Random Sand Fact
If you’re at a craft market in the Gambia,, you’ll likely find traditional sand paintings: sand in different shades forming people, animals, and landscapes.
Sand paintings are made with glue painted onto wooden boards with sand of different colors poured on top to attach one tint/shade at a time. The excess sand is removed before new glue and another colored sand is added. Some use only natural colored sand from different locations, while others dye sand to different tints.
On OUAW’s social media, you’ll see another form of sand art, a temporary one, or nature’s masterpieces, grains of sand close up. Follow to see!
