Kindred Necklace — Small — First Series
From the first AKIN production run. Same sand from 195+ nations, same sterling silver and sapphire crystals — the only difference: not water-resistant. Offered while this series lasts.
Not a symbol of the world. A material sample of it.
Sand from every nation on Earth, gathered into one form.
Inside the square frame: grains collected from deserts, rivers, mountains and shores across the world — 195+ nations, every single one. Sealed between two sapphire crystals.
The grains were brought together over several years — travelers, researchers, locals and institutions across every continent contributing to the collection. More than 1,000 people. Places you know and places you have never heard of. All of it here.
The vast, held in small form.
The small is never small.

Care
- Not water-resistant. Remove before any contact with water — including rain, washing hands and high humidity
- Water damage is not covered under warranty for First Series
- After use: wipe with a soft cloth after use to remove oils or residue
- Store in the box or a soft pouch when not wearing
- Arrange chains in loops to avoid tangling — never force or pull
- Clean with a polishing cloth. Do not use silver dip — it can penetrate behind the glass.
- Never wear in natural hot springs or volcanic pools — the minerals blacken silver within seconds
- Pro tip! Find the small ziplock bag under the soft insert in your box. Store your silver in it between wears — it darkens far more slowly. Not as fancy — but practical!
A mist between the crystals? A sudden temperature change can cause brief condensation — this disappears on its own. If water has entered the piece, leave it in a dry place. It will dry, but this can take weeks to months. Salt water takes longest.
