Have you heard of or seen images of sand glowing with an ethereal blue light?

What looks like an AI product or over-edited shots are actual natural phenomena. And you can witness it in the Maldives.  While it appears to be glowing sand, it’s not. Instead, tiny bioluminescent organisms—phytoplankton in the water—cause the magical phenomenon. It means going to a particular beach to see it isn’t possible as the planktons are there at times and absent at other times. 

Visiting the beaches of the Maldives seems to be a hit, regardless. If you’ve been there, you know. Those of us who haven’t still know :-)
