The Seychelles’ pristine white sand beaches capture wanderers’ imaginations worldwide. But did you know analyzing the sand of even the most pristine beaches in the world reveals a hidden world of microplastics?

Samples of beach sand from different islands in Seychelles all showed tiny fragments of plastic waste, on average 1.8 particles per gram of sand.
