Random Sand Fact
In an old Nubian tradition in Sudan, sand from home waited for the person who travelled away.
Before a journey, sand was gathered from the dunes around home and placed at the entrance, both inside and outside the door.
It was then kept in copper vessels in the entrance, with the wish that the traveller would return home safely.
Sand from the place you had left, waiting by the door for your return.
