Archimedes asked that question more than 2,000 years ago. In The Sand Reckoner, the Greek mathematician set out to show that even a number that enormous could be expressed.

The number system of his time was not enough, so he developed a way to write vastly larger numbers. His calculation reached roughly 10⁶⁴ grains of sand.

Not infinite. Just very, very many.
