Random Sand Fact
In Sarajevo, people tell of a vendor who was paid in sand. When his wife emptied the vessels, she found gold.
Hasan sold boza, a drink made from grain. One night he was summoned to a bathhouse to serve the guests, and realised they were djinn, supernatural beings.
When the drink ran out, both his vessels were filled with sand as payment. On the way home, he was not to spill a single grain.
Hasan went to bed in despair. The next morning, when his wife went to empty the vessels, they were full of gold. He used the riches to build a mosque, and it still bears his name.
