Granello di Sabbia Necklace

Millions walked above it. It did not change.

Granello di Sabbia — a grain of sand in Italian.

This grain was found in St Peter’s Square, Vatican City. One of the most visited places on Earth. The square where crowds gather and wait for white smoke.

It was there the whole time. Underfoot. While history happened above it.

Green diopside with a yellow tint — formed deep within the Earth.

Scanned using micro-CT imaging and cast in 100% recycled sterling silver at 16× its original size.

Seen or unseen, it remained the same.

The small is never small.

GRAINS — jewelry cast from individual grains of sand. Because the small is never small.

Care

  • Wipe with a soft cloth after use to remove oils or residuePolish with a polishing cloth or silver dip when needed — if using silver dip, finish with a dry cloth
  • Never wear in natural hot springs or volcanic pools — the minerals blacken silver within seconds
  • Store in the box or a soft pouch when not wearing

Pro tip!
Find the small ziplock bag under the soft insert in your box. Store your silver in it between wears — it darkens far more slowly. Not as fancy — but practical!
